The Only Place You Can Find a Long John Silvers Restaurant in Washington State is in Richland
FISH AND CHIPS RESTAURANTS ARE POPULAR IN WASHINGTON STATE
Ask any tourist what is one of the popular fast-food chain restaurants they have GOT to try on a visit to Seattle and they will likely tell you it's Ivar's seafood restaurant, but Washington state has so many other great options for people to get their fish and chips fix! In the Yakima Valley, we've come to expect yummy fish and chips from Skipper's Seafood & Chowder. In the Tri-Cities area, there are many local foodie haunts that folks turn to, however, one of the most underrated fast-food fish & chips places in Washington state is Long John Silver's! Yes, that's right, I said it! In fact, Richland, WA, is home to the only Long John Silver's location in Washington!
HOW I CAME TO LOVE LONG JOHN SILVERS
I grew up in The South during the 80s, where fast-food joints like Captain D's and Long John Silver's had locations all over town. They were as popular to eat at as Taco Bell, Wendy's, Burger King, and McDonald's. When Captain D's and Long John Silver's started closing some of their locations in my hometown of Nashville, I grew a bit sad. I craved their HUSH PUPPIES, battered fries, and battered fish and chips!
Looking back on it now, those weren't the most healthiest of foods, especially when you consider that cooking oils weren't as regulated as they have become in our modern time. (Geez, that makes me sound so OLD, doesn't it? I swear I'm not that old. Ha!)
I wish that the Yakima Valley had a Long John Silver's nearby so that every now and then I could indulge in some of those deep fried comfort foods, but at least I know that the next time I'm over in Richland, I can stop by the Long John Silver's/Taco Bell on Queensgate Drive, as seen below.
You can find the only Long John Silver's restaurant in Washington at 2485 Queensgate Dr, in Richland. If you are craving to try them out and see for yourself why they are (hopefully) some of the best fast-food fish and chips you've had in a while, they are open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. They have drive-thru, dine-in, and delivery service available. If you're over in Oregon they have three locations: Hillsboro, Troutdale, and Roseburg. There are no LJS's in Idaho!
The other spot in the Yakima Valley to get fast-food fish and chips is Artic Circle, which coincidentally is also the last remaining Artic Circle in Washington state.
