Your Commute Could Be Impacted by Road Work

Yakima city officials say traffic on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be one lane between 1st Street and 3rd Street, Wednesday November 2nd, from 6:30 am to 12:00 pm. They say traffic restrictions will be required "as a crane will occupy two lanes of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to remove old elevator equipment from the roof of Yakima City Hall."

Work that was supposed to happen on Tuesday is happening Wednesday

Also Wednesday Traffic on 72nd Avenue will be reduced to one lane north of Tieton Drive for about 300 feet tomorrow, Wednesday, November 2nd, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Traffic restrictions will be required for a "project to grind and replace the asphalt on that section of 72nd Avenue." The work was supposed to happen on Tuesday but weather conditions delayed the work.

All the work will delay your commute if you don't find a way around

Because of heavy traffic volume, drivers can expect delays in the project area. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed. Access will be maintained for businesses and emergency vehicles in the project area.
Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
