Christmas Eve Recipes: Bootleg Buffalo Dip
Do you have a special recipe that you make every year around Christmastime? I usually just fix myself a cup of spiked egg nog, but I went to a Christmas party the other day and my friend, Megan, brought a Buffalo Dip that was so good, I took home a plate of it and later begged her for the recipe.
My friend Megan said that she had actually found the recipe on Pinterest, and what a sweetheart, she even texted the recipe link to me. I also found a 1-minute YouTube video showing me how to make it. I combined the two recipes together to make my own Bootleg Buffalo Dip recipe!
Let me tell you, this Buffalo Dip was so easy to make, so in case you (like me) have never made it before, I am sharing my bootleg Pinterest/YouTube recipe with you as your Christmas present-don't say I never gave you anything!
Grab a large bowl and mix the following:
- A big can of chunk chicken-shredded (or use a cup or two of shredded rotisserie chicken)
- 6 oz of softened cream cheese
- A cup of buffalo wings sauce
- A cup of classic buttermilk ranch dressing
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup of blue cheese crumbles
After you mix everything together, pour it into a glass or ceramic baking dish and then cover the entire dish with more cheddar cheese and a few more of those blue cheese crumbles. Bake the dip in the oven at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
Voila! Let it cool down before you start scarfing up the dip!
Another thing, you don't have to just use chips to eat the dip with-get creative! The possibilities of foods to scoop up Buffalo Dip are endless. For instance, yesterday I was eating pizza for dinner and got the idea to slice off the pizza crust into bite-sized pieces. I used the pizza crust bites to scoop up the Buffalo Dip and it was quite tasty! Later that evening, when I was eating a piece of Texas Toast for a snack, I decided to dip a piece of that in the Buffalo Dip, too. Dee-licious!
I hope you like the recipe. Merry Christmas!
