Yakima’s Sneaky Bootleg Restaurants: Why Are They Hiding in Plain Sight?
THERE ARE BOOTLEG YAKIMA RESTAURANTS AMONG US
If you've ever ordered from Door Dash, UberEats, or GrubHub, you may have noticed the names of some interesting new restaurants popping up in Yakima. Reader beware: These are not new restaurants, they are sneaky bootleg restaurants! I call them bootlegs because they are listed under knock-off names. I know a good quality knock-off when I see it, just like those knock-off purses you can buy in Chinatown in Manhattan. I've seen at least EIGHT knock-off "bootleg" restaurants on Door Dash, especially.
I thought it was mighty strange that I had never heard of a restaurant called "Cocoa's Burgers". I was like, where is that and why haven't I heard of them before? The answer is rather simple and once you learn the secret behind these new places you might be a bit miffed (like me).
ARE THESE BOOTLEG-NAMED RESTAURANTS ON DOOR DASH ACTUALLY OPERATING AS GHOST KITCHENS?
Someone on Reddit tried to warn us. They spilled the beans and said these are actually Ghost Kitchens! Now that I know the truth behind the names of these random new Yakima restaurants, I'm going to probably just order from the originals. Knowing is half the battle!
WHAT ARE THESE YAKIMA GHOST KITCHENS REALLY UP TO:
Established restaurants are listed as different ones in order to get you to order from them. Example: Say you were scrolling through the list of local restaurants looking for burgers. You see the name Red Robin and you keep on scrolling, thinking to yourself, "I'm not in the mood for Red Robin today." might not be inclined to click on them and order anything. But if you were to see the name, Cocoa's Famous Burgers, you might go, "HEY, WHAT IS THIS NEW PLACE? I WANT TO ORDER FROM THEM!" and so you do. You would have fallen for the sneaky bootleg trap of actually ordering from Red Robin!

A Red Robin restaurant concept. You will find everything from the Red Robin menu with highlights of their salads and healthier meal options. They tried it!
Wild Burger

Buffalo Wild Wings has gone incognito. You will find everything from the Buffalo Wild Wings menu with highlights of their burgers, chicken sandwiches, and side items. Are you feeling "wild" enough to make an order?
The Burger Den
3704 Fruitvale Blvd
I am flummoxed, as the kids say. This is Denny's restaurant in disguise! Don't believe me, check the address on Google! All of the burgers from Denny's are housed under this restaurant with the fake name!
Cocoa's Famous Burgers

Well, lo and behold! Shari's Cafe and Pies has an alter ego named Cocoa!
Donato's Pizza and Wings

Red Robin has some sneaky nerve. How many restaurant doppelgangers do they have?!

Okay, this place is really Outback Steakhouse in camouflage so they lost me in the first half, but they had me in the second half with this sandwich called the "Nashville Hot AF Chicken Tender Sandwich". I've gotta try me some of THAT!
