Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial start of the summer. The Yakima Valley is searching on Google for some exciting stuff to get into this summer!

I have already made some plans for my family to get into, and by family, I mean my daughter, Willow. She is going to have some fun visiting one of her godmothers, who is like a little sister to me. Willow is going to be living it up on the Southern coast whilst I slug it away at work. Then, she will head over to my hometown of Nashville to visit my mom and meet her great uncles and great aunties. I am looking forward to a trip to Las Vegas in July and possibly a trip to Atlantic City as well.

Here are the top 5 things the Yakima Valley is looking forward to this summer!

1. Weddings

There are many gorgeous locations to get married in the Yakima Valley, from hidden spots in Naches on the outskirts of town all the way over to wineries in West Valley, Wapato, and Zillah!

2. Swimming at the YMCA Aquatic Center

There is a lot of making up to do from the coronavirus pandemic shutdown of 2020 and 2021! There is the coolest water slide we've ever seen in the Yakima vicinity so go check it out! I think the Green slide is faster!

3. Reading

Reading by the pool is a luxury we all need to afford this summer! Check out Inklings Bookshop for some great reads and support our local businesses!

4. Summer Internships

If you need a summer internship there are plenty to find this summer in the Yakima Valley. Make sure you get PAID because you are actually doing some work!

5. Summer Camps

Lots of summer camps will be happening this summer, from Camp Dudley to First Tee and Melody Lane!
