Will Yakima health officials require masking in the future?

Yakima Health District officials and officials from World Health Organization say they're concerned about another wave of cases that could put people in the hospital and kill others.

The mask is optional. That's the word from Yakima City officials who say masks are now optional on both Yakima Transit buses and inside the terminal at the Yakima airport.

The mask mandate is no more, but sometimes you may wanna think about keeping your old mask nearby just in case.

But masks will still be required on Yakima Transit and at the airport.

Masks won't be needed in department stores, K-12 schools, restaurants, gyms and grocery stores.

The mask mandate is coming to an end, but officials warn the mandate may not be lifted on the 21st if this happens.

Masks however will still be required in prisons and jails, long-term care and health care facilities.

Council members will hear a presentation from Yakima Valley Trolleys which last month enjoyed having Santa Clause ride the trolley's.
