Kasie Thompson, a young professional living in Yakima, says that she wants to create a group of like-minded young people to come together and help solve community issues. She envisioned the kind of space she wanted to see in her community so Kasie took action and created the Yakima Young Professionals Network.

Thompson aims for the new group to network with community and business leaders of various industries to find creative solutions and inspire each other to improve the city of Yakima. This group is also a great way for new transplants to the Yakima area to meet new people and make friends and connections.

The first goal that Thompson has for the Yakima Young Professionals Network is meeting twice a month. The group's first meeting was held at MAK Daddy Coffee Roasters on January 22, 2020, and more meetings are soon to be announced.

Kasie's enthusiasm is contagious and she already has found local support gaining membership from New Leaders Yakima County.

If you are interested in joining the group and are between the ages of 18-34, you can request to join the Facebook group here.
