There are positives to each one of the stereotypes I realized are true about people living in Portland. I didn't just grab these out of thin air; it's easy to verify these just by looking at the Portland sections on reddit.

Before I moved to the Pacific Northwest, I thought everybody in Portland were lumbersexuals. That stereotype is so not true. Or is it?

After getting hooked on the television show, Portlandia, I had the impression that everybody living in Portland were extremely bizarre. That, too, is so not true, as I discovered on my first visit there.

Portland is a fun place, filled with a host of activities that I already love, like great shopping, (I got my first Tom Ford lipstick at the Nordstrom in Portland), food trucks (RIP Alder St Food Carts), things to do with kids (hello Playdate PDX), and great restaurants, like my new favorite, Pine State Biscuits!
