Hoptown Wood Fired Pizza in Wapato Puts a Smile on Everyone’s Face
I met a good friend out in Wapato and she suggested we meet at Hoptown Wood Fired Pizza. I haven't been there since the Piety Flats Winery and General Store closed down, and that was YEARS ago! We brought our kids along since they hadn't seen each other since the pandemic started. Let me tell you that going to this place was a great idea: Hoptown Pizza in Wapato puts a smile on everyone's face--even my grumpy pre-pre-teen!
The gorgeous sunny day might have had something to do with it. I love going for a nice drive so it was great to get out of the "city" of Yakima and head to Wapato. When we arrived, we put on our face masks and stepped inside the pizza joint. It was so spacious!
We grabbed one of the large family-sized tables and set our stuff down. The kids grabbed their menus and quickly told us what they wanted to eat: my kid wanted pepperoni and cheese pizza and the other kids wanted their pizza with a few extra toppings. I ordered a cider with my pizza. SO YUMMY!
The sweet server asked us for our drink orders first and my daughter decided she wanted to try a Squirty Temple because she had never tried a Shirley Temple drink before. The other kids chose a root beer float because it had ice cream in it. Once Willow saw the root beer floats arriving, she decided that she, too, wanted one!
The kids' faces really lit up when the dessert came: they ordred cookies and ice cream. The cookies were as big as my friend's new baby, I'm talking huge! ❤️
Our pizza was delicious and the happy and bright atmosphere of Hoptown made it a special day!
