The former Astria Regional Medical Center alternative site for non Covid-19 patients has been put on hold and likely won't be used say local health officials.
Last week local and state officials visited the now closed hospital, reviewed local capacity and announced plans for the alternate site be put on hold.
State officials are now sending 100 U.S. Health and Human Services personnel who were set to work in Yakima to other long term care facilities throughout the state.
State officials praised the area for doing such a good job that the alternate site isn't needed in the Yakima area. They say they're thankful for being able to divert resources to other parts of the state and country.
