When was the last time you had some apple pie?

TIETON CIDER WORKS APPLE PIE BAKING CONTEST

I think the last time I indulged in some apple pie it was before the COVID pandemic, so we're talking at least two or three years ago. The only way I'll ever eat apple pie is warmed up with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top! I don't think that's the plan for the Tieton Cider Works Apple Pie Eating Contest this Saturday, but maybe they'll let you BYO Ice Cream after the eating is done!

To be transparent, it's not an actual eating contest per se, where you have to shovel a bunch of apple pie down your throat the fastest. This contest is about BAKED apple pies and who in the Yakima Valley can make the scrumptiousest (my new word), and most tastiest apple ple.

WHAT IS YOUR SECRET APPLE PIE RECIPE?

Do you think you've got the perfect recipe to make your homebaked apple pie the standout winner? What's so special about your recipe? You can tell me, I will keep it a secret! Don't worry about me stealing your recipe and trying to make it myself, I don't like to do a lot of baking. I'm more of a cook, I like to throw down on the stove, the air fryer, and the instant pot instead of the oven. I can never get the crust right when I make an apple pie, or any pie for that matter, so I just stopped trying to make them.

BRING YOUR APPETITE TO THE PIE BAKING CONTEST

Bring your appetite even if you aren't entering the contest because they will have samples of the pies available!
