3 Worst Fast-Food Drive-Thru Intersections in Yakima
3 Worst Fast-Food Drive-Thru Intersections in Yakima
There is nothing worse than trying to get to a drive-thru to grab something quick to eat on the go, only to find out there's a traffic jam before you can even pull into the restaurant lot! There are 3 of the worst fast-food drive-thru intersections in Yakima. The good news is, at least two of them have rectified the situation. As for the other two, the food is so good it is worth the wait.
1.
Taco Time on Summitview Ave and Yakima Ave
700 Summitview Ave
Taco Time has hands down one of THE best burritos in town. I think it must be the unexpected addition of roasted pumpkin seeds in the Veggie Burrito! But I tell you what, the Taco Time on Summitview Ave has THE WORST drive-thru intersection in Yakima during the lunch rush! You'll be driving towards Yakima in the right lane just minding your own business trying to get to where you are when all of a sudden, it seems like the traffic is not moving through the green lights. That's because there is no room for those in line for Taco Time to get out of the way!
2.
Dairy Queen on Yakima Ave
801 East Yakima Ave
If it's around 5-something p.m. or lunchtime and you are coming to town from the Terrace Heights area or if you just got off the Yakima Ave exit from the freeway, you were likely going to run into a long a** line of cars trying to get into the Dairy Queen drive-thru. It was quite annoying. Thankfully, the owners of the Dairy Queen have since remodeled the restaurant's entryway from Yakima Ave and they remodeled the building for a fresh, updated, and modern look. THANK YOU!!
3.
Taco Bell on Nob Hill Blvd
1602 W Nob Hill Blvd
Raise your hand if you've ever tried to get into the drive-thru lane at the Taco Bell on West Nob Hill Blvd. Now raise your hand if you did that during the lunch rush or at dinner time? You would be a bold-faced liar if you said you had an easy time getting in there without running into a traffic jam on the South 16th Ave side of the street! It was MAYHEM at its best! Fortunately for all of humankind, the Taco Bell owners have since given a serious overhaul to the drive-thru entryway. You can no longer enter Taco Bell's property from South 16th Ave, instead, you must go to the entrance by the new Yakima Valley Vintner's Tasting Room and YVC Technical Facility. It's still located on S 16th Ave, but it has a MUCH safer way to drive into the Taco Bell. YAY, I just love a happy ending!
