It's gonna be awhile before this woman is back in the saddle.

Police in Lakeland, Fla. arrested 53-year-old Donna Byrne last week for riding a horse while drunk for about 10 miles. Yeah, a horse. For 10 miles. Like she's some sort of Wild West cowboy who's as much of a fan of the Triple Crown as she is of Crown Royal.

Officers, who got a tip about a woman who appeared confused and perhaps endangering herself, pulled her and her horse over, at which time her blood-alcohol level tested more than twice the legal limit in the Sunshine State.

In addition to DUI, Byrne was charged with animal neglect and failing to provide proper protection for the horse.

Animal control took the horse while Byrne was brought to jail, where we assume she managed to trot rot in her cell. Perhaps not too surprisingly, she has a history of run-ins with the law, including cruelty to animals, drug possession, probation violation and criminal traffic.

We don't think it's out of the realm to say this whole experience was a night-mare for her. Hopefully, her lawyer is more creative than that joke when it comes to getting her off.
