When was the last time you visited a consignment shop? One of the most trending online searches for the Yakima Valley was "consignment shops near me." I'm just as stunned as you are. It was the fifth most searched "near me" trends of 2022, coming right after donut shops, diesel prices, plasma donation, and rehab centers.

WHY CONSIGNMENT SHOPS ARE SO POPULAR?

I am not a frequent shopper, so I haven't been to one in over a decade, but I have friends who sell their wares in consignment shops all the time. You get to purchase high quality garments for a cheaper cost than retail value because the consignment store owners carefully inspect each garment and only agree to take your best stuff.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CONSIGNMENT SHOP AND A THRIFT SHOP?

Consignment shops are different from thrift stores in that you can actually make cash money off of the items you donate to be sold by the consignment store. I am the type of consumer who wears TF out of my clothes. I sweat a lot, so my shirts have all these embarrassing pit stains on them. My jeans usually get ruined too, because I spill makeup foundation on them. My foundation is on the darker side and for some reason it permanently stains whatever clothing (or carpet) if drips on. (Wow, I am realizing what a mess I must be! I guess that's for my next therapist to figure out.)
