*update*

I was just scrolling through Facebook like I do every morning and I just saw this post from Twila, one of the owners of our local Off the Record!

HERE IT IS FOLKS - OFF THE RECORD IS CLOSING. OUR LAST DAY OF BUSINESS WILL BE SEPTEMBER 14TH. WE'RE HOPING SOMEONE WILL STEP UP AND BUY THE STORE. STAY TUNED. THERE WILL BE HUGE SALES COMING!

So I had to call to confirm and it's totally true! The lease is up at the end of September and honestly, Twila is tired. She's been there every day and now she's ready to take a step back. So it's now for sale. Want to purchase this epic piece of Yakima?

They will begin selling the inventory, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for sweet deals. Plus, help me spread the word. Let's try and get someone to take over, right?

I have great memories of checking out the CDs on sale and this little memory about Aerosmith.

The year was 1998 and "Armageddon" had just been released. Everyone was loving on the song, "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" and I was, too. So I went to Off the Record to pick up the CD.

I thought just asking for the latest Aerosmith CD would give me what I was looking for, but apparently, I wasn't alone. Tons of fans of the movie had beat me to it and asked, "Do you have that song from the movie Armageddon?" Not even realizing it was an Aerosmith song. This had been really irritating the workers, so they fired back at me: "Do you really want the latest Aerosmith song, or are you asking this because you want that song from the movie?" I, being a fan of Aerosmith and also now embarrassed, laughed it off and said, "Of course I want the latest Aerosmith CD, I don't care about that movie!" I totally did, though, and that was the only reason I was there. ;)

I ended up with their album "Nine Lives." It did not have the song, "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing," but I was introduced to the song "Pink," which became my new obsession! :)
