Officials at the White Pass ski area are waiting on the snow like so many skiers and borders in Yakima and throughout the region. Spokesperson Kathleen Goyette says they hope to be open by mid month. "That means as soon as we can operate safely in terms of snow coverage. So that's why we're making snow in the lower area and hoping that Mother Nature will turn on her snowmaking and cover the top for us."
Goyette says there's lot of excitement with season pass sales up 10 percent over last year.
And if you are a parent of a young skier or border there's a new offer for you. Third graders ski free. Check out all the information at the website at skiwhitepass.com.
Currently Mission Ridge, 49 Degrees North and Crystal Mountain are the only areas open in Washington State.
