Who doesn't love a good cooking show? Do you know what's even better? Watching a local person compete in these competitions is even better!

I had a friend once compete on Survivor and it was awesome to have that local connection to watch the show and root for!

I've also known people who competed on the Voice and Beat Shazam.

A local Walla Walla baker is going to compete on the upcoming Food Network's Best Baker in America TV series.

Michele Pompei of the Walla Walla Bread Co. is going to compete in Season 4 of the Food Network series.

You can check out Michele Pompei's profile on the Food Network here.

Here's what the profile says about Pompei's resume:

Michele is a co-owner and executive pastry chef at the Walla Walla Bread Company in Washington. In between working at Michelin star restaurants, Michele also taught culinary and baking skills to other aspiring chefs. His specialty is high-end optical illusion desserts.

How did Michele get involved in the Food Network?

A talent scout from the Food Network reached out to Pompei and asked for a resume and food sample and as they say, the rest is history.
