3 Weird Things We’ve Always Wanted to Do in WA But Haven't
1.
Rent a Stay in this Washington House That is Fit for a Hobbit from Lord of the Rings
Every bit of this house is weird and incredible at the same time! It looks like something Frodo Baggins would be living in, doesn’t it? Might the wizard, Gandalf the Grey, stop by, too? You can rent it on Airbnb but it will cost you a VERY pretty penny at $400 a night plus tax and cleaning fees! Did we mention it is located right near The Gorge in Orondo, WA? We really hate walking up steep hills to get to our lodging, but we still definitely want to do this weird thing in Washington!
2.
Visit the Stonehenge in Maryhill, Washington
I have always wanted to attend a summer solstice event at the original Stonehenge historical landmark in the UK and it looks like I won’t have to travel far to get that pseudo-experience of Stonehenge. Apparently, the guy who built a Stonehenge lookalike in Washington state (now part of the Maryhill Museum) thought the original structure was intended for pagan human sacrifices. He felt that the enormous deaths of soldiers during the first World War was sacrifice personified and dedicated his Stonehenge to honor the soldiers’ memories. It’s a crypt! 97 Stonehenge Dr, Goldendale, Washington.
3.
Spend a night or two in the houseboat used in the movie ‘Sleepless in Seattle.’
Did you know you can actually rent the houseboat that was featured in that classically romantic Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan movie? It is located in the Lake Union neighborhood of downtown Seattle. Be prepared to shell out hundreds for the experience because it starts off at $564 a night. Click here for more gorgeous houseboat rentals in Seattle.
