You know a TV series has captured public interest when SNL drops a parody after only four episodes, but the sketch comedy series’ first crack at The Handmaid’s Tale … could have used more time under his eye. Watch Chris Pine reveal what happened to all the chill bros when the Republic of Gilead started putting its women in bonnets.

SNL took aim at Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, recreating the cinematography to a T with stars Sasheer Zamata, Aidy Bryant, Vanessa Bayer and Cecily Strong (as Offred). The pre-recorded sketch didn’t exactly dig too deep, however, instead focusing on host Chris Pine and his fellow bros as they learn what befell the country’s women. They’re super-chill about it, though.

The sketch did manage to take a dig at Hulu itself, with a closing tagline of “See, Netflix, we have one too.” It’s hard to argue that The Handmaid’s Tale has garnered the most attention of Hulu’s originals, though Netflix might not necessarily sweat the competition until Emmy time.
