5.) Keep your bedroom door closed
Keeping the door closed will let your room cool off and not push air out into other parts of your home. By letting this happen the cold air is displaced and overcome by the heat. Keeping the door closed will keep it trapped and help cool you off.
4.) Move the air conditioner to your room.
If you have a portable air condtioner you may think it's too much work to move it from one room to another. However, this could make the difference between you getting a full night's rest or being spread out on your bed in a puddle of sweat.
3.) Take a shower before bed.
Taking a cold shower will help bring your body temp down and keep you cooler for longer as you fall asleep. If you're ever feeling overheated or sick from the heat, hop in the shower and let the water run down your neck to help cool down.
2.) turn off all electronics.
Nightlights, television, salt lamps, phones, you name it, electrical will heat your room even in small amounts and can put you over the edge while trying to sleep. For a lot of people it helps to fall asleep to their favorite tv show or an old movie so their mind can drift off, but did you know the heat from the tv may be the thing that's keeping you awake? Turn off the electronics and watch the room cool down.
1.) Freeze Your Sheets
This sounds like I'm insane, but this life hack has helped me get through some crazy hot nights, Tossing your sheets in the freezer for about an hour before you go to bed will cool the material down, it might come out a little stiff but it will loosen, make the bed and you're laying on a cold comfy cloud making it even easier to call it a day and get some sleep.
