It's one of my favorite things about Silverwood but looks like this year it's being buried for 2020 and that's Scarywood.

Silverwood Theme Park is open and usually runs Scarywood through the Halloween season but representatives from the theme park say that this year's Scarywood is canceled.

Scarywood is an annual pilgrimage for a lot of us from the Tri-Cities but due to COVID-19 and social distancing, we won't be able to make the trip this year.

Silverwood released a statement on their Facebook page talking about the choice to shutdown Scarywood for 2020.

Here is what the company said:

“For the protection of our Guests, Cast Members, and Haunters, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Scarywood for the 2020 season. Due to the unique features of this event, we cannot operate Scarywood while maintaining the recommended guidelines by the CDC and our local health district,”

It's a bummer to see Scarywood not happen this year but it does make sense.

We aren't even having our usual Scaregrounds here in the Tri-Cities and it seems like other Halloween attractions will also close down to be safe.
