The new #1 on Apple iTunes this week? Stones. Rolling Stones. It's the first time Mick and Keith and the Stones have ever had a chart topper on iTunes. Now I hope they can finally get some bloody satisfaction.

The new Rolling Stones tune, "Living in a Ghost Town", the first new song from the world's greatest rock n' roll band since 2012, debuted at the top of the pops of the Apple iTunes hit parade after it dropped this past Thursday.

Check it out:

Mick Jagger speculated he thought the tune “would resonate through the times that we’re living in right now.”

The Stones had not released a new tune since “Doom and Gloom” and “One More Shot” in 2012. While it seems the song is perfect for these COVID-19 times, “Living in a Ghost Town” was actually written last year.

The Stones' "Start Me Up" peaked at #2 in 1981, but the last number one track the band had was "Miss You" in 1978.

“We cut this track well over a year ago in L.A. for part of a new album, an ongoing thing,” said guitarist Keith Richards to the Hollywood publication Deadline. “And then s–t hit the fan [and] Mick and I decided this one really needed to go to work right now and so here you have it.”
