Paint Nite Was For Our Veterans At The VFW
I love going to Paint Nite in Yakima. It's always so much fun with instructor Christina Mendoza. She is an amazing painter herself, but what she does the best is teach us all how to paint.Wednesday night's (Sept. 20) Paint Nite was held at the VFW in Yakima. All proceeds went to our Veterans of Foreign Wars. What an amazing cause. The canvas painting was a Seattle Seahawk.
The cool thing about Paint Nite is that the instructor shows you step by step on how to achieve the strokes and the looks of the painting. She shows you and then gives you 15 or 20 minutes to do it yourself. Some people stick with exactly the way she describes and other people change the colors and do their own thing. The teacher also encourages people to explore their own ideas of what it should look like.
Everyone was doing so well -- guess it helped that everyone there was a huge Seahawks fan. Thank you, Paint Nite, for helping such an amazing cause and for hosting such a fun event. Check out Paint Night schedules and details on Facebook and sign up for a class near you. The next one I'm going to do is Never Never Land.
