My Favorite New App Let’s You Skip the Nonsense In Recipes
My wife just had a birthday and I really wanted to surprise her with a homemade Banana Cream Pie. I've never cooked one before but thought "what the heck!?", I can do this!
My wife and I have been on diets since last year and we've both lost easily 30+ pounds between us and we've both been cooking at home and avoiding fast food places.
I've got a lot more confidence in my cooking so I thought for sure I could make a pretty amazing Banana Cream Pie but quickly discovered something about pie-making.
I went and searched out pie recipes and ended up seeing pages and pages of recipes that seem to never end.
I appreciate the work that the writers and cooks put into a free recipe online but sometimes you just want the dang recipe.
Thanks to my friend John Riggs, I saw him post an article online about an APP that literally takes all those pages and extracts the recipe for you.
I didn't believe it when I first saw it so I didn't go check it out and decided to try making the Banana Cream Pie on my own.
I'm sure you know where this story is going to go. I looked everywhere and all I found were oodles and oodles of long-winded recipes.
I gave up, I bought the pie at Shari's because the recipe looked too daunting for me to tackle.
That brings me to today where I decided to try the App and lo and behold - it works like a charm!
The site is justtherecipe.app and it was easy to use. You can drop your website's recipes URL and it'll extract your recipe with the ingredients and recipe without all the nonsense.
I'm going to play around a little more with the app but I'm pretty dang excited to give it a whirl!
