Yakima Mother's Day Spring Faire Event Helps Fund Programs for Abused and Neglected Children
For the past several years, Mother's Day has been sprinkled with the delightful Spring Faire event by the folks over at the Voices for Children Foundation nonprofit. This event helps fund programs for abused and neglected children in the Yakima County foster care system.
This May, the VFC Foundation group is presenting the fun event once again, now that the initial panic of the coronavirus pandemic has subsided here in Yakima County.
If you have never attended this event before, there is music, food, fun, games, as well as a few arts and crafts to celebrate the mother figure in your life! I remember when my daughter Willow was about three (3) years old, we went to the Mother's Day Spring Faire and had a fun time. We even took pictures that I used for a Christmas card (some 7 years later).
What can we expect this year at the annual Mother's Day event? Some great local live music, mimosas (yay!), local artisans showcasing and selling their wares, plus fresh flowers for sale, food, and wine, if that's your jam. Six hours of fun, and every "Mother" gets a free fresh flower. Oh, how sweet is that! I'm looking forward to this event.
