There's nothing quite like a tall, ice-cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day.

Even more satisfying, would be getting that glass of thirst-quenching lemonade goodness from an enterprising entrepreneur, and not just in someone's front yard, but during a huge event coming to SOZO Sports Complex in Yakima.

Lemonade Day and the Lemonade Day Festival in Yakima

What is Lemonade Day and what is the Lemonade Day Festival? Well, it's best described in the video below, but in a nutshell, it's a nationwide movement for the power of positive thinking, geared toward helping kids in our area learn how to think big and dream even bigger.

Lemonade Day in Yakima is presented by Washington Broadband, a community-minded local business whose owner, Forbes Mercy, is someone I'd consider to be an iconic build-from-the-ground-up entrepreneur, SOZO Sports Complex, and the Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce. Lemonade Day is an opportunity for local kids to learn all they need to know about starting, planning, designing, and operating their own business using a Lemonade Stand as a vehicle. There's going to be some friendly and fierce competition, in categories like the best recipe, best design, and entrepreneur of the year!
