Tis the season for fresh peaches hitting local produce stands in the Yakima Valley. July thru September are the harvest seasons for this juicy fruit.

One of my friends has a peach tree in her back yard and they are ripe as heck and falling off the tree. This means we can definitely find some peaches at produce stands in town.

This Peach Cobbler Recipe Takes Yakima Valley Peaches to the Next Level

Jones Farms has a recipe on their website that really whets my appetite and awakens the foodie in me: Southern Bourbon Peach Cobbler! It calls for six (6) Jones Farms peaches of different varieties and two tablespoons of the bourbon of your choice. The Chunky Chef says you can substitute extra vanilla extract, peach juice, or apple cider if you can't use bourbon.

Finding Fresh Peaches Near You: Try a Friend or a Local Mom-and-Pop Fruit Stand

One of my best friends, Heather, has a peach tree in her yard and she asked me to come pick some whenever I want. I haven't taken her up on that offer yet because I can't come up with the perfect recipe to use up all those peaches. Do you have one to share?
