The Rising Trend of Alcohol-Free Mocktails in Spokane

Zero-proof.
No-Proof.
Mocktails.

Whatever you want to call it, it’s one of the latest food trends hitting the Pacific Northwest. Some local spots in Spokane have been getting with the program and offer drink menus with completely alcohol-free drinks. The great thing about mocktails is that they have the same delicious taste as beverages that do.

Maybe you don’t drink alcohol for economic, religious, physical and mental health, or job-related reasons. Finding a place in town that serves tasty mocktails and zero-proof drinks is like finding lost treasure on a map.

If you are out in Spokane, don’t drink, and love to be in bars where they serve great food and awesome live music, then pull up a barstool! I found a list of local spots that are Reddit recommended for having the best mocktails in town.

DON’T OVERLOOK THESE TYPES OF PLACES THAT SERVE ALCOHOL-FREE DRINKS

  • COZY ALCOHOL-FREE CAFES
  • RESTAURANTS
  • BARS & PUBS
  • JUICE BARS

If your friends are heading out to a local pub or nightclub, like Post Street Ale or Zola, but you don’t like your drinks loaded with all that “barley pop” or mixed drink concoctions, then a low or non-alcoholic mocktail is a great option for you. Of course, not all pubs and bars serve non-alcoholic brews and zero-proof drinks, so call ahead and ask. NOTE: Non-alcoholic beers are not completely alcohol-free; they have a low alcohol content, however (usually .5% or less).

“Hi All, we’re fairly recent transplants to Spokane and still finding our favorite places. My husband doesn’t drink and I don’t drink very often, so I’m wondering if there’s anywhere that [has] a good mocktail? Bonus for good food and/or live music too.” - Kittymeow7116 on Reddit
