Where do you get road rage in Yakima? It can pop up anywhere and any time you’re behind the wheel, but I’ve noticed a certain stretch and street where it’s crept up on me more often than any others. Take a look at my recent road rage incident and the humorous outcome, and then sound off about your road rage locations below.

Near Collision On 24th and Nob Hill Blvd.

A few weeks ago, I was heading west on Nob Hill Blvd, approaching 24th Ave. I turned on my signal to pull into the left turn lane, and the next thing I know, I’m hearing honking!

street and cars, intersection.

On my right, a compact smart car pulls up and signals for me to roll down my window.

Here is how the exchange went:

Smart Car Driver:Hey f***er, learn to drive! You f***ing cut me off!

Me:I did? I’m so sorry.

Smart Car Driver:F***ing watch where you’re going next time a******!

Me (done being polite):Why don’t you tie a balloon to your car so we can freakin’ see it!” (I try not to cuss in public, for reasons).

Smart Car Driver (stunned, and then laughed):Okay, that was funny. Sorry for yelling, at least you used your signal.

Me:Sorry, I honestly didn’t see you. Safe travels, man.

What is it about Nob Hill Blvd in Yakima?

I’ve seen more (and felt more) rage on that roadway than any other in the Yakima Valley. Is it me? Is it the other drivers or people darting across the street (not in a crosswalk)? Do you have any thoughts?
