Yakima Humane Society’s Summer Bash Recap!
This past Saturday (July 22nd) the community came together in the park for a fun day in the sun... for a purpose! To help some animals find new leases on life and to go to their forever homes! And thanks to many of you, many dogs are wagging their tails even harder this week!
Yakima Humane Society's first ever Summer Bash event went off without a hitch. Many vendors where there selling their goods. Many people came out to the event, and the Yakima Humane Society staff and volunteers brought out the pups to play and greet the community with tail wags, bellies to pet, and some dogs gave free slobbers!
Talking to Kristine of YHS, I was informed how several dogs did find new homes, but the shelter still has many more pets just waiting to go home, and the shelter can use all the help they can get. They have been, and plan to continue doing pop-up events throughout the valley helping create brand new families complete with a new pet! For all of YHS's Pop-Up Events, keep an eye on their Facebook Page.
If taking a new family member home isn’t ideal for you at this time, you can still help out. The Yakima Humane Society is always welcoming help in form of food, toys, and other supplies. For more information about what is needed, click here. And if you’re not in a place where you can financially help out, they can always use volunteers.
