The Day After All The Fireworks
I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty surprised when I woke up on Sunday, July 5th, to see blue skies over the Yakima Valley. There have been many years where the sky was red and smoke-filled and stayed that way until mid to late September. Waking up on Sunday to NOT THAT made me smile. Let’s try really hard to keep it that way throughout the rest of the fire seasons by making sure our homes and property are fire-ready!
Wildfire Ready Yard Waste Recycling Event
The West Valley Fire-Rescue will be holding its final “Chip It, Don’t Burn It” event for the year at Station 54, at 11 North Fork Rd, out in Tampico, giving you the chance to get your property cleaned up and to properly dispose of it safely and for free!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 18th, from 9 am to 1 pm.
By doing this, not only will your yard and property look better, but you’ll be helping yourself and your community by reducing the potential fire hazards.
