What’s For Dessert? Top 5 Portland Bakeries To Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth!
My grandmother-in-law raised five children during the Depression. She's a hard-working lady (even to this day). She knows how to pinch a penny and ensures nothing goes to waste. I was stunned at one dinner when after the meal was done, she was adamant about dessert. In my youth, we didn't really have dessert after every dinner; it was more for special occasions. She wanted her dessert, and she was not joking or beating around the bush for what she wanted. It did make sense the more I thought about it; she saved and scrapped by, so if that was her treat for a great job raising 5 kids, taking care of her husband, and working 9-5, by golly, give the lady her dessert! Especially now that she's in her 80's, she's deserved it! But now… what to choose?
That night was a quick trip to the local drive-thru for ice cream, but next time, we're doing dessert right. Lucky for us, we're able to make a review round-up from all the different bakeries in Portland, Oregon, and we're sharing it with you (in no particular order)!
