The one thing you don't want to mess with is someone's coffee, even if that coffee is a complicated concoction of deliciousness that you can't even begin to spell. The other thing you don't want to mess with is the cup holding that magical energy-giving liquid!

The metallic holiday cups are the reason for this particular Starbucks recall.

Over 440,000 cups are under recall due to the possibility of overheating and breaking, risking burns and laceration hazards.

The cups at the center of the incidents are the Metallica Mugs that were included in the 2023 holiday Starbucks gift sets.

Two sizes of mugs, the 11 oz and 16 oz sold in gift sets during the 2023 holiday season are the only cups involved in this recall and DOES NOT involve any other Nestle USA or Starbucks-branded products.

Reports have come in that if the cups are microwaved or filled with hot liquid, they could break and pose an injury. At the time of this writing, there has been 12 incidents (including two that resulted in an injury).

If you have any of these cups, discontinue using them and contact Nestle USA for a refund.
