Identity Theft Is Bigger Than You Realize
Washington is a big state for Identity Theft. According to the Washington State Office of the Attorney General, the Evergreen State gets between 12 to 13 thousand reported cases each year.
I’ve been the victim of identity theft 3 times in my life. Luckily, I was able to catch the charges on my bank account and put an end to the fraud before it got out of hand. Since then, I’ve been even more careful about all of my personal identification and payment documents.
When I hear of a free shred event, I take notice and take action, and thankfully, there’s another one coming up later this month.
Shave & Shred Event In Yakima
Solarity Credit Union is hosting a free shred day with some added perks! Free shaved ice (while supplies last) and a community food drive!
The Shave & Shred Event will take place on Saturday, June 27th, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Solarity Credit Union at 703 N Park Ctr, in Selah.
Each vehicle can bring up to 3 boxes to shred for free, and the event will wrap up at 2 pm or until the shred truck is full!
“Bring a non-perishable food donation for the Selah-Naches Food Bank and receive one additional free box to shred.
The event is open to the public and will continue until 2 p.m., or the shred truck reaches capacity.”
