It appears that tragic incident that started yesterday afternoon in West Richland may have an ending.

After a national manhunt for a former Yakima City Police Officer was initiated Monday afternoon, word is coming out of Oregon that the suspect is believed to be deceased.

Authorities say that 40-year-old Elias Huizar shot and killed two people (his ex-wife and girlfriend) and fled with his one-year-old son, Roman Huizar.

An amber alert was issued for Roman last night.

Early afternoon on Tuesday, April 23rd a pursuit on I-5 involving, who is believed to be Huizar, came to an end.

In a social media post by Southern Oregon Scanner LLC and picked up by Yakima Scan, it is believe that the suspect has taken his own life.

The baby is reported to be okay.

Yakima Scan added to the information that many vehicle accidents occurred due to the chase, which at points reached 100 mph.

OSP pursuit ends in Lane County. It is believed to be Elias Huiza, who has reportedly taken his own life. Multiple accidents have occurred as a result of the eluding. A child is in state protective custody.
