I saw a friend post on their Facebook page that the 7-Eleven on 16th Ave and Summitview is closing up for good pretty soon and that broke my heart! I love going there early in the morning on the way to work when I need something like a Red Bull or late at night when I'm craving one of those hot dogs rolling around on the rotisserie thingie they have.

One person online just reminded me that the 7-Eleven on Summitview has been around Yakima for nearly 30 years! I know, I know, a lot of people complain about the parking lot over there, and those complaints are valid! I mean, trying to get out of there and back onto 16th Avenue can be a pain in the keister for me! That's why I always exit on the Summitview Avenue side.

Where else am I going to head to on those days we have the Sunfair Parade and we're all waiting in the line of cars to drive down Summitview? Just this past fall, my daughter Willow and I took a little walk to the 7-Eleven to grab some snacks while we waited for the start of the parade. Willow wanted some cookies and I wanted some 7-Eleven coffee!

And where the h-E-double-hockey-sticks are we all going to get our free Slurpees on Slurpee Day? Maybe it was all those Slurpees that put the 7-Eleven on Summitview out of business?

That's right, I've heard that the Summitview 7-Eleven is closing because they are not getting enough business. That is just one of the rumors I saw online. Somebody else said they hear the Summitview 7-Eleven is closing by the middle of March 2022.
