I don't know about you, but I have been waiting for the Washington state licensing place to open back up!

My ID expires on my birthday near the end of August.

Whenever I purchase alcohol and show the courtesy clerk my ID, I have been getting a bunch of them REMINDING ME that my license is about to expire soon.

No crap, Sherlock!

They actually think I don't know my own birthday.

Why do they make licenses expire every few years like that, anyway? (Because it's a money-making machine, that's why.)

Anywhoo, I saw a press release from the Washington state DOL that says beginning Monday, June 22nd, various locations around the state will be opened up again. The Union Gap location is on the list.

Hooray!

Well, there's a catch. The locations will be open by appointment only. That's fine with me, I don't need to be around a bunch of potentially contagious coronavirus-y victims anyway. Just get me in the building, take my picture, take my money, gimme my new license ID and let me go!

I have been wanting to get one of those fancy Enhanced ID's so that I can travel across the border to finally visit Canada after all these years I've been living here in Washington state. There's nothing like knowing you CAN'T go somewhere that makes you WANT to go somewhere.

If your license expires between now and September 30th, you will have a 90-day extension to renew it. That's cool! to know!
