Here Are 5 Reasons to Watch the Golden Globes on January 5th
I have been a big awards season geek since I was a teenager and I love to watch TV shows and movies, so I am really looking forward to upcoming events like the Golden Globes.
The Golden Globe has given me a few iconic moments that made me laugh and cry like:
The Drunk Chrissy Teigen:
and Sandra Oh's historic win:
Every year, the viewership goes down for these types of events because of award show fatigue, but I have found five reasons why I will probably watch the Golden Globe awards on January 5, 2020. (These are in addition to the fact that Tom Hanks will be given the Cecil B. DeMille award!)
The Red Carpet
I love to see what celebrities are wearing on the red carpet! This year, I've heard that jewel tones will be all the rage on the red carpet. We shall see.
Dolemite Is My Name
Over the holiday weekend I re-watched the new Eddie Murphy hit, Dolemite Is My Name (Netflix), which is nominated for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. It is very raunchy, but a great story and it's based on a true story.
Billy Porter
I am rooting for Billy Porter (Pose) to win the Best TV Drama Actor category. He gives me life every time he comes on the screen, plus he is usually one of the best dressed people on the red carpet! He is always serving me some fierce red carpet realness, as he would likely say!
The Politician
As far as Golden Globe-nominated television shows go, I binge-watched The Politician this weekend. It is nominated for Best TV Comedy. I freaking love that show and I especially appreciate that it has a diverse cast (plus it's got Jessica Lange, Bette Midler, and "Papa Pope" in it!).
Beyonce
I am rooting for Beyonce to win because she is nominated for her song, Spirit, from the nominated animation movie, Lion King.
