Good Grief: Smell This Stuff If You’re Feeling Sh*tty
If you are having a sh*tty day or week (or month, or heck, YEAR) then you need to embrace the power of aromatherapy.
Friday (Aug. 30) is Grief Awareness Day, so here are five scents that I've heard will put some pep back in your step if you are full of grief, misery or anguish. You can even rack up on some candles to get a jump-start your happiness.
Jasmine scents allegedly help alleviate depression and exhaustion.
Reportedly, vanilla scents ease claustrophobia, anxiety and encourage a good night's sleep.
There is an abundance of professed health benefits of smelling lavender, including soothing headaches, anxiety, depression, insomnia, toothaches, acne and geez, the list goes on!
If you are feeling tired, have aching feet, a really bad sunburn, nausea and the like, try smelling scents loaded with peppermint.
Lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit-based aromas are purported to lift you out of those blues. You can even use these fragrances to help eliminate a funky-smell (which is why you find a lot of detergents, dishwashing liquids, and household cleaning products scented with lemon).
