Saturday's 17th Fresh Hop Ale Festival jam-packed the old Track 29 area with music, food and, of course, beer.

This new location gave it a more wide-open space and that didn't even seem enough as later in the night it was still pretty packed with happy people from Yakima and beyond. Some people few all the way from the east coast to attend, maybe even overseas. Since the Yakima Valley grows about 75% of the hops used in beers across the U.S. and much of the hops used in the entire world, it's a celebration of the harvest of those hops. Every brewery in attendance featured a "fresh hop" beer along with some other special selection. There were also a couple of ciders and even wine on hand.

All in all, a great time to be had by all. A great location -- I hope it's still at the same place for the 18th annual Fresh Hop Ale Festival next year!
