Since 1985, the Yakima chapter of the American Cancer Society has put on a 24-hour "Relay For Life" to raise funds to fight the disease as well as honor the memory of those who have succumbed to it and celebrate survivors.

The 2019 version will be held at Franklin Middle School Park the weekend of July 20-21.
Opening ceremonies will begin Saturday at noon with the survivor celebration and dinner following at 6:30 p.m. The always poignant luminaria ceremony will occur at 9:30 p.m. that night as well. There will be live entertainment, games and food throughout the weekend, too.

Registration is free and can be accomplished by calling 800-227-2345 or online at RelayForLife.org/YakimaWA
