Excessive Heat Warning For Yakima Friday and Saturday Furnace
If someone comes up to you in the next couple of days and declares 'It's a scorcher!' Yes, that will be slightly irritating, but they won't be wrong. It will, in fact, be a scorcher as temperatures are expected to once again exceed 100 degrees on Friday and Saturday and we could even do it today - with the high expected to peak at 99 degrees.
To say things have been unusually hot so far this summer would be an understatement. Did you know that in June, Yakima set a record for the number of consecutive days over 100?

JULY IN YAKIMA HAS HAD A RECORD NUMBER OF DAYS ABOVE 90 DEGREES
So far, 23 of the 29 days this month have been 90 degrees or higher. For the month it will be 25 days total since both Friday and Saturday are going to be above 100 degrees.
SURVIVE THE HEATWAVE
Drink plenty of fluids so that you remain hydrated during these excessively hot days. Always use sunscreen when spending any length of time outside as well. Nothing makes a heat spell worse than also having to deal with sunburn. Sunburn is just the short-term problem encountered by not using sunscreen. Long-term effects include everything from aging skin to skin cancer if you aren't careful with your skin.
