In a press release from the City of Yakima on Wednesday (December 2), it was announced that Yakima Parks and Recreation Department is putting on a socially-distanced way to deliver letters to Santa Claus.

The event will be conducted at the Public Works facility at 2301 Fruitvale Boulevard this Saturday (December 5th) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Not only will attendees be able to drop-off their letter in a special mailbox just for Santa, but the free event will also entertain with music and feature holiday lights plus free giveaways for children while supplies last.

From the press release, "Drivers are asked to proceed on the following route (see map below):
*Approach the Public Works facility off of 16th Avenue on to J Street heading west.
*Turn left on 21st Avenue
*Turn right on Fruitvale Boulevard
*Turn right into the Public Works parking lot.
*After driving through the event, exit the parking lot and turn right on Fruitvale Boulevard"
(If a participant approaches from the west on Fruitvale Boulevard, they will be directed to turn left on 20th Avenue, left on J Street and left on 21st Avenue.)
