Full stop. This is for people who are behind on their rent.
There are stipulations and I am sure paperwork that needs to be done but if you are willing to put in the work, it could REALLY help get you back in the green again. Here is what it says in regards to evictions in Washington State on Governor Inslee's site
Beginning August 1, renters are expected to pay full rent, reduced rent negotiated with landlord, or actively seek rental assistance funding. Landlords may only evict a tenant if none of those actions are being taken but must offer the tenant a reasonable re-payment plan before beginning the eviction process. Tenants must also be provided, in writing, the services and support available.
Key words there - Your landlord needs to provide a reasonable re-payment plan if nothing is being done on the tenants part BEFORE the eviction process takes place. The tenet NEEDS to get the ball rolling with how they plan on re-paying their past due rent. You can do this and you have to or you run the risk of losing your home.
I understand that this can be a terrifying time right now but you are not alone. If you have questions or concerns and feel your rights are being violated you can reach out to Yakima County Volunteer Attorney Services at (509) 453-4400 they are open Monday through Friday 9 am - 4 pm.
