With many students saying they want to be back in the classroom as soon as possible the Yakima School District says that won't happen until next year. District officials have announced that most of the districts students will remain in remote learning until next year. The Superintendent Trevor Greene sent a letter to parents in the district last week saying the district is staying in a remote learning model until the second semester in late January because of the growing rate of COVID-19 in Yakima.

Other districts are doing the same thing including Wapato and Sunnyside School Districts.
