Before you get a job, the world is your oyster. Then you land your first position and it never stops. The world can still be your oyster but the bills continue to show up so youngins, enjoy your freedom while you can.

If you're in a spot where you are ready to begin working I've put together a list of jobs for the 16-year-old crowd and above. Unfortunately, besides side jobs like babysitting and such, there are not many positions available for 15-year-olds. If you know of some, please do reach out.

I know a lot of your elders will tell you to just take your resume directly into the company you want to work for and that is great advice. Making a memorable first impression is incredibly important and can help make you stand out from the sea of resumes. However, it is crucial these days to know what you're getting yourself into.

Most companies require you to apply online. Almost every single website has a section reserved specifically for employment opportunities so to not waste anyone's time, please follow the directions. You can still bring a hardcopy resume in and ask to speak to the manager, introduce yourself and make them aware that you applied online. This might speed up the process or give you an inside track but to not apply online is your first mistake. You've got this and if you know of more positions that should be added to the list, don't hesitate to reach out.
