School is out and for three months the pool is open...coincidence, I think not!

For the fun in the sun swimmers, recreational swim sessions are

• Monday through from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm & 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
• On Saturdays and Sundays, 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

Lap swimming and water walking sessions at Franklin Pool will be offered

• Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Saturdays and Sundays.10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Some of us are old enough to remember the fun of a Drive-In movie...but are we young enough at heart to enjoy the new event this year at Franklin Pool - the Dive ‘N Movie at 8:30 pm on Friday, July 1^st. Parks & Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson:

The community is invited to turn a day at the pool into a night at the movies... Watch Moana on a giant inflatable screen while floating on a tube under the stars at Franklin Pool.

The movie is free with pool admission. Participants will need to bring their own tubes.

To close out the 2022 summer season, Franklin Pool will host its 16^th annual Paws in the Pool event on Sunday, August 21^st, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Dogs and their owners will get to enjoy the pool on the last day of the season just as they have for over a decade. Paws in the Pool admission is free for dogs, but owners pay regular admission fees.

Also starting Friday, June 17^th, and continuing through August 20^th, paying to swim in one of Yakima’s two City-owned pools or the YMCA Rotary Aquatic Center entitles the purchaser to a special Yakima Transit bus pass at no cost for rides to and from the pools. The pools will be responsible for distributing Bus-to-Pools tickets to passengers.

Also, beginning Thursday, June 23^rd, bus service direct to Franklin Pool will be provided from Kissel Park, 1525 South 32nd Avenue. At 12:30 pm, the bus will leave from Kissel Park and head to Franklin Pool. The bus will also pick up passengers on the way along Mead Avenue and 32^nd Avenue eastbound.
