It's amazing how many people choose to walk or ride a bike as regular transportation now.  I think it is pretty cool of them. Some may have to because they cannot drive, but no matter what the reason, they are still doing it.

An upcoming survey by the state of Washington might help answer some of those questions. State officials want to know more about how many people are walking or pedaling -- and why they're choosing alternatives to cars.

But they need help conducting the survey. That's where you come in. The state is seeking volunteers to conduct the survey, which starts Sept. 28 and will take three days.

I think this would be a fun thing to do. Heck, you might even get some really funny photos out of it!

Here is where you register as a volunteer with the state of Washington. More specifically, the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Just out of curiosity, do you walk or ride a bike to your next destination?

Take the poll and let us know.
