Wapato Tamale Festival 2022 Will Bring Deliciousness And Fun This Weekend
This Saturday there is going to be a delicious WAPATO TAMALE FESTIVAL in the Yakima Valley. The weather is set to be beautiful and sunny with a temp expected to hover around 84 degrees. It is going to be a perfect day to head out to the tamale fest.
The Wapato Legacy Association and numerous volunteers are hosting a tamale cooking contest, a car show, activities of fun for the kids, plus live entertainment and vendor booths.
Live performances will begin around noon at the Wapato Tamale Festival and are set to include DJ Uncle Lou, Wise, E Razo, Gooty, 7KKris, Zaymoney, Deadsiren, Majin Boo, BigToneMakeYaMoan, and more.
Contestants in the tamale competition will submit a dozen tamales for the judges to sample and determine which tamales taste the best. I sure would love to be a judge for the tamale contest! Ha! Maybe someday, but in the meantime, I will be looking forward to heading to Wapato sometime on Saturday.

WHERE: Downtown Wapato at the Washington Victory Plaza. (On the corner of 2nd St and Wapato Ave.)
COST: It is Free to attend but you will have to buy your own tamales
