If your big, loving and open heart dreams of becoming a foster parent, there are two upcoming open houses you will want to attend. Keep reading!
To become a foster parent, you don’t need a fancy house, a spouse or partner or extensive parenting experience. You do need dedication, flexibility and patience. Most of all, you need a strong desire to provide a stable, loving and supportive home for a child in foster care. - Casey Family Programs casey.org
If being a foster parent is something you want to do, are you aware of all the steps you need to follow to become one?
You first need to become a licensed foster care provider through the state of Washington. This involves a months-long process which involves having a safety inspection of your home, personal interviews with case workers, learning the do's and don'ts of being a foster parent, and taking lessons on how to effectively parent young children and teenagers with challenging emotional and behavioral issues.
One of the most important features of being a great foster parent is that you have to be ready, willing and able to take in a foster child sometimes on a moment's notice.
Attend one of these open houses below to get expert information on becoming a foster parent home, and please spread the word!
